Farron Homer Durio, 67, of Palacios, passed away on September 30, 2026. He was born on August 21, 1959, in Mamou, Louisiana, to the late Francis H. Durio and Geraldine Blanchard Durio.
Farron retired from Formosa Plastics in January 2026 after more than 25 years of dedicated service. During his time there, he proudly served on Formosa’s Emergency Response Team. His commitment to helping others also led him to briefly serve with the Palacios Volunteer Fire Department. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Farron served in the 187th Inf Bn 101st Abn Div (AASLT).
When he wasn’t working, Farron was happiest outdoors—fishing along the bay or enjoying a day on the golf course. On most evenings you could find him sitting outside in his Adirondack chair listening to music and chatting on the phone with his family and friends. He dearly loved his family, had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, and never met a stranger. Farron will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Farron was preceded in death by his sister, Belinda Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Gonzales Durio; daughters Amy Trumble, Stacey (Michael) Ragusa, and Kylie Durio (Sergio Zamora); son Trey Durio; sister Susie (Doug) Guillot; brothers James (Edna) Wilkerson, Earl (Olive) Wilkerson, and Barry (Cindy) Wilkerson; and grandchildren Cheyenne Durio, Ian Trumble, Mika Ragusa, Pete Ragusa, Farron Ragusa, and Lena Ragusa.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Palacios. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will be at 9:45 AM Friday, October 9, 2026 at the Houston National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Gonzales, Mark Gonzales, Trey Durio, Sergio Zamora, Michael Ragusa, and Ian Trumble.
