The LCM Bears (4-1, 1-0) opened district with a strong performance against the improved Vidor Pirates (2-3, 0-1). LCM rolled up 489 yds. of offense with 343 yds. on the ground and a season high 146 passing yds. from QB Jakson Struwe. The Bears had a 14-0 lead at the half and it was 21-0 in the third when Pirates FB Colt Holden scored to put Vidor on the board. The Pirates were stalled by three turnovers as the Bear defense held them to 227 yds. of offense. LCM will travel to Huffman (1-4, 0-1) who lost on a last second FG to Liberty. Bridge City 31 Lumberton 10-
The Cardinals shutout the Raiders in the second half after building a 21-10 lead. Offensively it was a big night for RB Josh Luna who rushed for 202 yds. and two scores. QB Hudson Hoffman was 10-19 for 211 and a TD pass to Carson Bounds who finished with 117 receiving yards. BC (2-3, 1-0) will travel to Vidor and the Raiders (2-3, 0-1) will have the week off.
Carthage 23 WOS 7-
The game was 10-7 at the half with the Mustangs TD coming from a pass from Kwalin Dugas to Braydon Gipson. Both players had season highs. Dugas was 13-26 for 177 yds. and Gipson caught 8 passes for 93 yds. Khelvy Jefferson had 12 carries for 76 yds. The Bulldogs (4-0) were consistent offensively posting 406 yds. of offense (188/218). The Mustangs (3-2) will get a week off before opening district play at Hamshire-Fannett.
Orangefield 35 Kirbyville 0-
The Bobcats jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead and coasted to improve to 4-1 (1-0) while the Wildcats drop to 0-5. Gage Lucas rushed for 111 yards on just 9 carries and scored two touchdowns. OF (4-1, 1-0) will host Buna (4-1, 0-1).
