Cecil Ray Johnson, 67, of Vidor, Texas was a man of few words, but an infinite amount of wit and wisdom. In life he was a loving brother, husband, father, friend, and mentor to many. He transitioned to his next life in the comfort of his own home in view of his beloved blueberries, surrounded by those dearests to his heart.
Cecil was born in the spring of 1959 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas to Jesse Carrol “J.C.” Johnson and Della Mae Davis-Johnson. Cecil became a skilled master plumber under his father’s guidance working for his plumbing business. Cecil retired from West Orange Stark ISD where he was a “paw-paw” to all. Cecil enjoyed cooking and experimenting with new recipes. Cecil was an avid gardener, and he poured his heart into his plants and tending his many hives of honeybees that he referred to as his “girls”.
Cecil was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Carrol Johnson, his mother, Della Mae Davis-Johnson, and his granddaughter Adalynn Kathleen Moore.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Tammi Ogden-Johnson, his brothers Johnny Johnson, and Kenneth Johnson, his sisters Tammy Johnson-Skinner, and Melina Johnson, his daughters, Liz Johnson, Kylee Johnson-Sanders, Niki Johnson-Monceaux, his granddaughters Randah Adams, Anleigh Sanders, Wynslea Moore, and his grandson Nikolas Boyett. As well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his sweet “Sally”.
