On Thursday three more musicians with ties to the Vidor area were welcomed into the Vidor Walk of Fame.
The city started recognizing people from the area with their Walk of Fame in 2010 which includes star stones alongside the walkway at city hall to show how many entertainers were associated with the town of 9800. In August 2021 Vidor joined more than 20 other Texas cities that received the official Music Friendly Community designation.
The three who were officially recognized at the Vidor Council meeting included the late Cajun musician and radio host Johnny Janot, musician Carl Richardson, and singer-songwriter Waylon Payne.

Richardson (blue shirt) was in attendance with his family. Below Janot’s family poses by his star. Also Nicole Davidson presents his family with a star keepsake.

Payne was awarded via Zoom. He couldn’t be here but will be stopping by in April to pick his award up in person.
Other names of note on the Walk of Fame include George Jones, Tracy Byrd, Clay Walker, and Billie Jo Spears.
