
On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at approximately 6:13 a.m., officers with the City of Orange Police Department received information regarding a threat made by a student enrolled at West Orange Stark Middle School.
The information indicated that the juvenile had made threats to shoot up the school and was attempting to gain access to a firearm. Officers immediately began investigating the report and contacted school officials. Through the investigation, officers were able to identify the juvenile student involved.
Detectives subsequently located the juvenile and the juvenile’s parents. During the investigation, the juvenile admitted to sending messages threatening to carry out a shooting at the school and to making arrangements to gain access to a firearm in order to carry out those threats.
The juvenile was taken into custody and charged under the Texas Education Code for Exhibition, Use, or Threat of Exhibition or Use of a Firearm (Felony 3). The juvenile was transported to the Hardin County Juvenile Detention Center.
This incident remains under investigation. Due to the age of the suspect, no further information will be released at this time.
