Shanon Leigh Smith was born June 24, 1963, and passed away October 27, 2025, at the age of 62.
Shanon lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the simple joys that made every day special. Her front porch was her favorite place, a welcoming spot where she would sit for hours, watching the world go by, listening to music, and sharing stories with family and friends.
Family was the heart of Shanon’s life. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were truly her pride and joy. Whether it was a big family gathering or an afternoon visit, she made sure everyone felt loved, heard, and at home.
A wonderful cook, Shanon’s kitchen was always filled with the comforting smells of her favorite dishes and the sounds of laughter. Her recipes passed down through generations will forever remind her family of the warmth and love she poured into everything she did.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, her wisdom, and her love for family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Robert Smith; children, CJ Raley, and Shana Prouse and husband Matt; grandchildren, Lane Prouse, Keaton Dougherty, Kaylee Prouse, Kymber Dougherty, Cash Lotsey, and Kyler Prouse; great grandchild, Hayes Chesson; siblings, Sonia and Chuck Delaware, Dallas and Belynda Smith, Tina and Mike Dehm, Rhonda and William Earnest, Billy and Amanda Smith, Keri and Scotty Smith, Ray and Nancy Smith, Debi and Bill Rowland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Alice Wiggns; brother, Travis Wright; sister in law, Tracy Wright; and grandchild, Ryder Dougherty.
Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6 p.m., Monday, November 3, 2025, at Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North Orange, Texas. Rev. Mike Streams will be officiating.
