
Monica Gayle McCoy (Winner), of New Braunfels, TX, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, surrounded by loving family.
Monica was born November 15, 1953 in Orange, TX, the daughter of Kenneth Mondean Winner and Wynne Edith Winner.
Monica graduated from Stark High School in 1972, then went on to attend Texas State Technical Institute in Waco, TX, earning an associates degree in commercial arts and advertising. Monica also attended Cosmetology school in Beaumont, TX, earning a manicurist license.
Monica married William Randall McCoy on April 29th, 1978 at First Methodist Slade Chapel in Orange, TX. They met while attending Texas State Technical Institute and shared 47 wonderful years together, exemplifying true love that only happens between soulmates. They shared their love with their three children and seven grandchildren.
Monica was a fixture in her hometown where she played a key role in running McCoy’s Photography which she owned with her husband, and as a nail technician for over 20 years before retiring to New Braunfels, TX in 2023.
Monica especially loved the arts which she expressed through painting and dancing. She was a talented painter and could often be found spending her evenings and weekends contributing to set design, costuming, and other production needs for Lorna Badon School of Fine Arts.
Monica was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Orange, TX, where she served in church outreach programs and as a technician for the music & sound system as well as a church school board member.
Monica was known for having a tremendous heart and giving spirit.
Remaining to cherish Monica’s memory are spouse, William (Randy) McCoy; children, Heather (Austin) Smith, Kenney (Adara) McCoy, and Wendy (Brandon) Adaway; grandchildren, Cooper, Brecken, Malaki, Mya, Brynne, and Stassi; brother, Mike (Bonnie) Winner; beloved brothers & sisters in law Terry (Becky) McCoy & Melony (Tim) Constanzo.
Preceding Monica in death are parents, Kenneth Winner and Wynne Winner; and in-laws, William McCoy and Shirley McCoy.
A celebration of life will be held March 22, 2025 at 2:00 at her daughter’s home in Pflugerville, TX.
Please make any memorial donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
Cremation will be held under the direction of Legends Tri-County Funeral Home in San Marcos.
