Martha Jane Hill, lovingly known as “Jane,” passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8th, 2025, at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor.
A proud and longtime resident of Vidor, Jane was a dedicated public servant, serving as a City Council member for Ward 6. Her love for her community was evident in her years of service and care for those around her. Beyond her civic work, she had a green thumb and found joy in gardening, nurturing both plants and friendships. Jane was also known for her love of cooking, often filling her kitchen with delicious meals for friends and family. When she wasn’t in the garden or the kitchen, she enjoyed quiet moments playing solitaire on her phone.
Jane’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her son, Curt Williams of Vidor, TX; daughter Mary “BeBe” Low and husband Walter of Vidor, TX; eight grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her love and wisdom.
She was preceded in death by her son Derek Todd Williams and her sisters Judy Dorman, Ginger Heuer, and Blanche Murphy.
Jane’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of service, love, and dedication to her family and community will never be forgotten.
