The heavy rain was not enough to put out a vehicle fire Tuesday afternoon.
The call came in around 2:15pm. A man driving a car hauler from Lafayette, La. to Houston pulled over at the Waffle House parking lot on Hwy. 62 thinking something may be wrong with his vehicle. He said he opened the drivers door and flames came out from underneath.
The driver was uninjured. The truck and first vehicle were casualties but the Orange Fire Dept. believed they saved the second vehicle.
