District play wrapped for the Orangefield Lady Bobcats and now they’ll prepare for the playoffs. Our 4A softball teams will finish district on Friday. The regular season for baseball wraps next week.
The LCM Bears beat WOS 14-0 in five innings. Parker Seago went 2-4 with 4RBI’s to lead the Bears while Landon Richards struck out 8 in three innings with one walk and no hits. Jakson Struwe and Marco Bandiero finished the shutout. Struwe, Parker Freeman, Clay Raney, and Ethan Fry also had two hits each. William Lee had the one hit for the Mustangs. Winners of five in a row, the Bears are now 7-3 in district. WOS is 1-8.

The Orangefield Bobcats clinched the district championship Tuesday night with a 6-4 win over the Hardin Hornets. Kane Smith, Logan Cheek, and Matthew Johnson led the offense with two hits each. Camden Fountain drove in 3 runs on the night. Carson Gonzales earned the win in relief, pitching 5.2 innings of 1 hit baseball, allowing zero runs with 6 strikeouts. The Bobcats have district matchups vs Kountze and Anahuac left, before heading into the playoffs.

Bridge City doubled up Jasper 8-4 to improve to 7-2 in district. Freshman Slade Landry went 3-3 with a HR and 2RBI’s. John VanHuis also collected a hit for the 100th of his career and had four stolen bases. Hunter Ford also had a 2 run double as the firm of Pachar, Tucker & Tregre took care of business on the mound.

Vidor posted five in the first and went on to beat Lumberton 8-3. Aiden Sims got things going with a two run single in the first. He also pitched a complete game giving up 2 earned runs on 10 hits with 2K’s and no walks. Austin Cadroy and Cade Safer also had two of the Pirates 9 hits.

Bridge City’s Carson Fall celebrated Senior Night with a five inning Perfect Game against Jasper, winning 10-0. Fall struck out 16 and was 2-3 with an RBI. Senior Haley Munoz was 2-4, senior Lexi Nugier was 1-3 with 2 runs scored, and senior Laurie Barg was 1-1. The District Champs wrap up the regular season at WOS on Friday.

The Orangefield Lady Bobcats defeated the Hardin Lady Hornets tonight 5-1 to wrap up district play. Charlee Sanches got the complete game victory giving up 4 hits with 5 strikeouts. Aubree Beck led the offense with two doubles, an RBI, 2 runs scored, and a stolen base. Haylee Spears had a double with 2 RBIs. Abigail Curphey had a hit, giving way to pinch runner Audrey Sonnier who scored a run. Hallee Becker added a hit, and Paris Becker had an RBI. The Lady Bobcats improve to 24-8-1 on the season and finished district 21-3A play in second place with a 12-2 record.

LCM blanked WOS 22-0 in three innings. The Bears had six hits as Keylie Washburn led the way going 2-2 with a triple, 2RBI’s and 2 runs scored. They also had 10 stolen bases. Jacelyn Cook pitched all three innings giving up just one hit with 6K’s and no walks.

The wildest game of the night saw Lumberton come back from a 14-3 deficit to beat Vidor 15-14 in 8 innings.
