Down 27-16 at the half, West Orange-Stark quarterback Marcus Turner, Jr. used his legs and his arm to lead the Mustangs to a 40-34 win at Nederland.
Turner rushed for 212 yds. and three touchdowns, and he threw for 131 yds. and two scores. Both TD’s in the air were to Nicholas Crosson. One for 41 yds. and the other for 31 yds.
It was also a good night for Jalen Gilmore who ran for 133 yds. on just nine carries.
WOS (1-0) will host LCM (1-0) Friday on the KOGT Game of the Week.
