Tuesday night in Vidor at a Special Called meeting to canvass the May 6, 2023 election results, two new council members were sworn.
Mercedes Lee ran unopposed in Ward One while Kathryn Weldon defeated two others to win the Ward Six seat. Ward Four incumbent Jessica Barker and Mayor Songe also ran unopposed.
Vidor also said farewell to Jane Hill, exiting Ward 6 councilmember and Kelly Carder, exiting Ward 1 councilmember (not pictured).
Also in the photo are Ward 2 councilwoman Nicole McGowan, Ward 3 councilman Michael Thompson and Ward 5 councilman Gary Herrera.
