A woman was killed early Friday morning when she was struck by a pick up at the corner of Hwy. 62 and I-10.
The Chevron store at the intersection is a Greyhound bus check point and a woman and her husband had stepped off the bus to smoke. According to witnesses a black Dodge Ram pickup entered the parking lot and then for some reason sped up and ran over the woman, jumped a curb and ran over a fence before coming to a stop.
The 34 year old man in the truck was taken to the hospital. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
