Melva Oliver, 89, of Orange, passed away on July 6, 2022, at her home.
Born in Oila, Louisiana, on August 2, 1932, she was the daughter of Frank and Leola McCaskill. Melva was dedicated to the Lord and was a loyal member of Community Christian Church in Orange. She loved gardening and would often grow several different flowers, fruit trees, and vegetables. Melva enjoyed being around her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Valerie Broussard; parents, Frank and Leola McCaskill; sisters, Dorothy Cole, Nelda Jean Hanger; and brother, James McCaskill.
She is survived by her sons,Preston Harris, Melvin Harris both of Virginia; daughter; Gail Adams of Orange; grandchildren, Heather Allen, Victoria Broussard; great-grandchildren, Jessica Allen, and Tyler Allen.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
