
The Texas Country Store at 16th St. and I-10 was burglarized again on April 1. OPD found that someone had entered the store and stole merchandise.
It’s the third time in three months that someone has broken into the store.

A man was arrested on April 1 after stealing merchandise from Krogers’ on 16th St. The man walked in and left walking with three fern plants.
Employees pointed the man out to police as he was walking on 15th St.
Police arrested Michael Waxter for theft and the plants were returned to the store.

Officer Grantham was patrolling on Burton Ave. when he spotted a vehicle run a stop sign. In an attempt to stop the red SUV the driver continued to speed through the downtown neighborhoods and run stop signs until he pulled into a home on Farragut. The driver then got out with his hands up claiming he was being chased by the cartel. The officer stated he never saw another vehicle during the chase. The man was arrested and charged with evading.

Officer Warner was near the Strickland and MLK intersection when he noticed a vehicle with defective taillights. After making a traffic stop it was learned that the driver, Arjeron Hayes, had five outstanding warrants. One for DWLI, another for unregistered vehicle, and three for possession of a controlled substance. He was taken to the Orange County Jail.
