The Oakland Athletics are giving Jake Lemoine the chance he worked so hard for with the Texas Rangers and that’s a shot at pitching at the major league level.
The 28 year old Bridge City native was invited to join the Athletics and on Sunday, manager Mark Kotsay informed him he had made the opening day roster.
Lemoine pitched six scoreless innings this Spring for Oakland after spending the 2021 campaign at Triple-A Round Rock for the Rangers where he logged a 2.86 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 56.2 innings across 45 appearances.
Lemoine was a standout at BC and at the University of Houston before being drafted by Texas in 2015. He also becomes the first Cardinal to join a major league roster.
