The Bridge City Cardinals boys soccer team blanked Hardin-Jefferson 8-0 to improve to 10-5 on the season. There were plenty of goals to go around at Larry Ward stadium as Senior forward, Oscar Carranza completed a hat trick, finishing with 3 goals. Sophomore midfielder Jaden Martinez finished with two scores, as well as Senior Midfielder Alberto Munguia who finished with two goals of his own. Junior Utility player Joey Murty finished the scoring for the Cardinals late in the match.
Playing well defensively in the shutout for the Cards were Senior center backs Kian Perry and Salvador Torres. Senior Goal keeper, Jackson Guidry kept a clean sheet and didn’t allow HJ to score, despite a couple looks on goal. The Cardinals improve to (5-2) in district play and currently tied for second with Jasper. The Cardinals next match will be Tuesday at home vs. the Jasper Bulldogs, with the girls playing at 5 and the boys at 7.
The BC Lady Cards lost to H-J 7-2.
