
The Celebration of Life for Deacon Julian J. Richard, Sr., 78 of Orange will be during a Funeral Mass, Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Rites of Christian Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 until 9:30 am. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30am.
He passed at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont, TX December 23, 2020.
Julian Joseph Richard, Sr. was born November 12, 1942 in Opelousas, LA to Hilda Dejuan Richard and Morman Richard, Sr.
United in Holy Matrimony on July 31, 1964 to Gloria Ann James, they shared some 56 years together, being parted only by his passing.
He has resided in Orange some 56 years.
Before retirement, working years were spent at U.S. Intec and Levingston Shipyard.
On June 13, 1992 Julian Joseph Richard, Sr. was ordained a Deacon in the Catholic Diocese of Beaumont. He served at his home parish, St. Therese Catholic Church in Orange, TX.
Deacon Richard is survived by his wife, Gloria Ann Richard of Orange, one daughter, Charolette Fontenot (Ryan) of Beaumont, TX, one son, Julian J. Richard, Jr. (Dantri) of Houston, TX, five brothers, Leroy Richard, Willie Richard, Joseph Richard (Margie) and Wilbert Richard (Frances) all of Opelousas, LA and Morman Richard (Ann) of Orange, two sisters, Mary Barlow (Jerald) of Daily City, CA and Delores Davenport of Baltimore, MD and 4 grandchildren.
