
Woman Arrested for DWI after Crash on DuPont Drive
Police had to close DuPont Drive early Wednesday morning after an SUV knocked down an electrical pole. The vehicle also hit a parked car, a trash can, and a stop sign. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
The crash was at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of DuPont Drive. Orange police report a Dodge Durango was traveling southbound and was going too fast.
The SUV left the roadway and hit the back of a car that was parked in a residential driveway. Then the Durango hit a large trash can by the curb, hit the wooden utility pole, and finally a stop sign.
Polce report the driver was 40-year-old Precious Joy King of Orange and she was arrested for DWI.
Thief Drives Off with Dollar General Goods
Orange police are reviewing surveillance video to help find a woman who stole items from the Dollar General store at #024 16th Street.
Officers went to the store at 6 p.m. Wednesday after a call from an employee. The employee said a woman had a shopping cart overflowing with merchandise. She walked out of the store to a vehicle without paying.
Police said the thief put items from the cart into the vehicle, but then drove off as the employee came outside to get a photo of the license plate. Some of the merchandise was left behind.
