Orangefield senior Xander Parks is the 3A State Golf Champion after shooting 142 at the Jimmy Clay Course in Austin.
Parks, who recently signed to continue playing golf at Jacksonville College, was in second place after Day One. Day Two was a tougher day for most of the golfers but Parks kept a steady hand to bring home the victory. The first State Champion in a sport for Orangefield since Eric Eshbach won the pole vault in 1999.
Xander’s younger brother Lincoln also finished in the top ten with an eighth place finish.
The Bobcats as a team finished fourth out of 12 teams.
