The Houston Astros have promoted and extended the contract for General Manager Jeff Luhnow, Astros Owner and Chairman Jim Crane announced Monday. Dog Killed After Biting Horses
One of three horse riders shot and killed a dog that attacked the horses Sunday evening. The attack came as the riders were going along 15th Street. Orange Police Detective Captain Robert Enmon said officers are investigating the shooting. "If they were protecting their horses or livestock from a stray dog, they are within their rights to protect," he said. Enmon said the three horses had bites, but were not seriously injured. The bites were on the hoofs, chest, shoulder, and mouth areas. Parker was found about a mile from his home Sunday. He was checked out by medical personnel and returned home. - Saturday at approximately 5:45pm the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a missing person. 58 year old Michael “Mike” David Parker is reported to have walked away from the 200 block of Sharon Lane in the Vidor area, near the Lakeview Sandbar, and has not been seen since 1:30 or 2:00pm. Woman Fights Off Thief
A woman was beaten as she tried to stop a thief from stealing her car with her 4-year-old niece inside. It happened about 11:30 a.m. Thursday outside a laundromat on Highway 62 South at FM 105. The woman had left the child in the running car while she went inside to check on her laundry. The 28-year-old woman was also dragged as the thief put the car in reverse and hit two other vehicles in the parking lot.
