Orange narcotics officers arrested a local man Tuesday afternoon for possession of a rock of crack cocaine after a traffic stop. A detective reported he and another detective saw a car in the 400 block of Park Avenue not signal a turn within 100 feet, plus the car did not come to a full stop at the stop sign. The driver of the car was reported to be nervous and shaking. One of the detectives saw a crack pipe in the car and then found a small metal container with the crack. Clifford D. A wood-frame cottage in the Old Orange Historic District still has a future. The Orange Historic Preservation Commission Monday delayed any action on giving permission to demolish the house because the owner did not appear at the meeting. Owner Chrisleigh Dal Sasso asked to demolish the house at 1001 Orange Avenue. The commission must approve any demolitions within the designated historic district. On Monday, July 16th 2018 at approximately 11:09 PM, Detectives with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office were working their assigned duties along Interstate 10 at Concord in Vidor. Detectives observed a white in color 2002 Ford F250 change lanes without first signaling its intent. Ryan DuBose is the new principal of Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School. DuBose had been the principal of Little Cypress Junior High but will move up to the high school after Todd Loupe moved into the Administration Office. Loupe was named Director of Curriculum and Instruction, the position previously held by Stacey Brister. While working out at 5pm Monday afternoon at Planet Fitness in Pinehurst, a woman reported that someone smashed the window in her truck and stole various items including an iPad, clothes, shoes and her work bag. Police are looking through security camera footage. A large amount of copper was reported stolen Friday morning from an apartment complex under reconstruction after Tropical Storm Harvey.
