While working out at 5pm Monday afternoon at Planet Fitness in Pinehurst, a woman reported that someone smashed the window in her truck and stole various items including an iPad, clothes, shoes and her work bag. Police are looking through security camera footage.
A large amount of copper was reported stolen Friday morning from an apartment complex under reconstruction after Tropical Storm Harvey. Orange police went to 2600 Allie Payne Road, Fox Run apartments, about 7:30 a.m. Friday to investigate the theft.
A Lake Charles woman could pay a $500 fine for disorderly conduct after an Orange patrol officer saw her squatting to pee off Interstate 10. The officer about 8:30 Saturday night went to check on a possible disabled vehicle.
The officer reported seeing a Chevrolet Impala pulled to the outside lane of the westbound feeder road of the interstate near Mile Marker 872. The car did not have lights or emergency lights on. A woman was inside the car and a woman outside had her skirt pulled up and was exposing herself off the roadway. She told the officer she was relieving herself. She said she had not exposed herself until she answered a phone call. The car had a flat tire and was towed.
The Denny’s restaurant at 7112 Interstate 10 called police at 2:20 a.m. Friday and reported that a former employee took money from the cash register.
Triple L Honda, 1800 Strickland Drive, reported Saturday afternoon that checks had been stolen from the store and cashed at a Smart Stop.
A clerk at the Texas Food Store, 305 Burton Avenue, called police Friday evening to file trespass charges against a man. Police reported the man had been previously warned to stay off the property. The man went into the store and took several items without paying.
A Vinton woman and man were arrested Saturday evening for Class C misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Orange police were called about 7:30 Saturday to the Home Depot parking lot on Strickland Drive to check a suspicious vehicle.
Police report the man inside the vehicle gave permission to search. Police found 11 used syringes, a metal pipe, two spoons with a burned residue, a cigarette holder and a fake $100 bill. Under the Class C misdemeanor, the two face a maximum fine of $500.
A motorcycle was reported stolen about 7 a.m. Sunday from the 1000 block of Allie Payne Road.
Also on Sunday morning, a burglary was reported in the 100 block of Campus Street. A contractor working in the house had left tools inside and they were gone when he went back. Police found a broken window.
