LCM broke open a close game with four runs in the fifth and sixth inning to beat WOS 9-2 in a game heard on KOGT.
The Bears took a 1-0 lead in the second when Taylor Gilbert drove home Anthony Bandiero who had walked to open the frame. Then in the fifth LCM scored four runs on two hits. Three other batters reached on a walk, hit batter and an error. In the sixth the Bears (19-3) scored four runs on two hits including a two run double by John Beeson.
The Mustangs scored in the sixth on a sac fly RBI from Blake Robinson, scoring Justin Veitch. And then a bases loaded walk to Kaleb Ramsey in the seventh scored Da’Quarious Gipson.
Truman Franklin (5-0) got the win. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up one run on five hits with 7 strikeouts and four walks. Chad Dallas (3-3) suffered the loss despite seven strikeouts. They will play each other Friday at WOS.
Orangefield put away Hamshire-Fannett 16-3 on Tuesday. OF got things started in the first inning. Mason Gonzales’s sac fly scored one run for Bobcats.
Bobcats put up eight runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from doubles by Gonzales, Blake Bradley, and Kadeon Evans, a single by Johnny Armstrong, by Ryan Deutsch, and an error on a ball put in play by Kent Michael.
Bradley was the winning pitcher for Bobcats. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out three. Evans and Gunner Jones entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Carson Wright started the game for Hamshire-Fannett. He surrendered 16 runs on 11 hits over two and a third innings, striking out two and walking one. Reece King threw two and two-thirds innings in relief.
Bobcats scattered 14 hits in the game. Brett Fregia, Armstrong, Evans, Jones, and Deutsch all managed multiple hits for Bobcats. Deutsch, Jones, Evans, Armstrong, and Fregia each collected two hits to lead Bobcats. Matt Conkle led Hamshire-Fannett with two hits in two at bats.
Bobcats move to 12-2-1 (1-0), and will host the Longhorns on Friday.
Bridge City Cardinals easily dispatched Silsbee 8-1 on Tuesday.
Cardinals got things started in the first inning. Schuyler Thibodaux grounded out, scoring one run.
Cardinals tallied four runs in the sixth inning. Luc Hollier, Thibodaux, and Jackson Tims each had RBIs in the big inning.
Peyton Havard took the win for Cardinals. He lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out 12. Justyn Romero threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Corbin Johnson took the loss for Silsbee. He went five innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out four.
Cardinals tallied ten hits. Romero, Hollier, and Tims all managed multiple hits for Cardinals. Tims, Hollier, and Romero each collected two hits to lead Cardinals. Cardinals were sure-handed and didn’t commit any errors.
Deweyville beat West Hardin 12-2 in 5 innings with Caden Browning going the distance for the win. The Pirates travel to Big Sandy Friday.
PNG (3-0) defeated Vidor (2-1) 5-2.

The Orangefield Lady Bobcats traveled to Hamshire Fannett Tuesday evening and got their first district win of the year 19-4.
Codie Sorge got the win on the mound going 4.1 innings. Sorge gave up 4 earned runs on 5 hits with 1 strikeout. Kaylee Ancelot picked up her second save of the year relieving Sorge in a bases loaded 6-2 game in the 5th. Ancelot gave up 3 hits and finished with 3 strikeouts.
Ryden Stanfield went 3 for 5 with a double, a walk and run scored and 2 RBIs. Karlye Bramblett went 4 for 6 with a double, 4 runs scored and a pair of RBIs. Kaylee Ancelot went 3 for 3 with a double, 3 walks, 5 runs scored and an RBI. Kinley Gipson went 5 for 5 with a homerun, a double, 4 runs scored and 4 RBIs. Autumn Frost went 3 for 5 with a walk, a double, 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs. Olivia Grant went 1 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI. Kristin Broussard went 1 for 2 with 3 walks and 2 runs scored.
The Lady Bobcats improve to 17-5-1 overall and 1-1 in district play. They host the Lady Longhorns Friday at home with JV beginning at 5:00.
BC Lady Cardinals defeated Silsbee 4-2. Kassidy Wilbur got the win on the mound with 7 strikeouts. Wilbur was also 1-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Abby Anderson 2-4 with a run scored. Natilee Reed 1-3 with two runs scored. Ashley Gerrald 2-3 with an RBI double.
Deweyville Lady Pirates beat WHardin 10-1. Lacie McCullough was the winning pitcher.
Renna Toomey used her arm and her bat Tuesday evening at Lady Bears Field. The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears won easily over the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs behind the stellar pitching of Toomey 15-0 in four innings.
After the Mustangs’ leadoff batter Gabby Tims reached on an error, Toomey retired the next eight batters. Tims doubled off the fence in center for the only hit allowed by Toomey. In four innings Toomey struck out 10 walking none.
The Lady Bears took the lead in the bottom of the first inning. Ally White started the rally reaching on an error. Olivia Leavings singled to left. After a force play at third for the first out the Frenzel sisters both produced singles. Bailey drove in the first run with a hit to center before Brianna lined a shot to left that brought home two Lady Bears. The fourth run scored on a wild pitch.
In the bottom of the second Toomey hit a frozen rope to left center that cleared the fence for a homerun. Scoring in front of Renna was White who had led off the inning with a single to make the score 6-0 after two.
Six Lady Bears would score in the third inning. Mariah Mims the starting pitcher for West Orange-Stark failed to get an out from the first four LC-M batters she faced resulting in two more runs for the Lady Bears and her being replaced by Sidnee Lewis in the circle.
Toomey ripped a double to the left field fence to drive in two more runs. Wild pitches and a double steal effort would net two more runs for LC-M running it up to 12-0 through three innings.
Little Cypress-Mauriceville wrapped the game scoring three runs without registering an out in the fourth inning. White had the big hit in the final rally with a two-run single to left.
The victory keeps Little Cypress-Mauriceville (2-0) on top of the district standings. In their two district games the Lady Bears have outscored the opposition 26-0.
