The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce announced that the Student of the Month for Orangefield High School is Candice Harris. Candice was presented her certificate and gift bag by Chamber Ambassador Christy Khoury at the November 10th coffee hosted by Bridge City Bank. She received gift certificates and gifts from: Gulf Credit Union, The Classy Peacock, Little Caesars, Walmart, Wellspring Credit Union, Tiger Rock Martial Arts, Central Office Supply, Sabine Federal Credit Union, Michele Michelle Salon and Spa, Complete Staffing, Big Red Air Conditioning and Edward Jones Financial Advisor Karen Collier.
Candice is the daughter of Brian and Brandi Harris. She has a GPA of 3.79 and is ranked 35 of 121. Candice’s awards and honors include:
- Homecoming Court
- FFA Greenhand Award
- Big “O” awards from numerous teachers
- Highest Science Average
Candice’s clubs and organizations include: Volleyball 2013, Basketball 2013, Softball 2013, Track 2012, Cheerleader 2012-2016, Friends of Rachel 2014-2016, Meet in the Middle 2014-2016, FCA Treasurer (2015) Member 2012-2016, National Honor Society 2015-2016, Spirit Club 2015-2016, FFA Quiz Team 2015, and FFA Horse Judging Team 2015. In community service, Harris has volunteered at Orange Community Players 2015, volunteered at Orange County Retirement Homes, and clothing drives for The Friends of Rachel Club.

Catt of Orangefield High School. “Candice has remarkable perseverance and tenacity. She has a positive, go-getting attitude and never gives up on her goals. Candice’s attitude is contagious, and she makes others feel better about themselves and strive for more”, said N. Jenkins of Orangefield High School.
After graduation, Candice plans to obtain a degree in business to prepare for law school and ultimately become a successful family attorney.

Bailee Bacon is the daughter of Hilton and Lana Bacon. She has a GPA of 4.30 and ranked #17 of 164. Bailee’s awards and honors include:

Mrs. Arron Conner has had Bailee in Principles of Human Services and says, “Bailee is a sweet, caring young lady both in and out of class. She is always ready to help others in time of need. She comes to class every day with a big smile and positive attitude; what a joy!!”
In Ready, Set, Teach and Lifetime Nutrition, Mrs. Michelle Huff describes Bailee as “a very hard worker, her 4th grade students adore her and is very deserving of the honor. I also work with Bailee on Friday nights. She is my first female to be our BCHS Flag Runner. Bailee is a very sweet young lady and I love having her.”
Bailee plans to attend Lamar University after graduation.
