Linda Riddick has announced that she is stepping down as girls basketball coach at Little Cypress-Mauriceville.
She told KOGT that her husband Melvin, also a coach, is retiring and she like to spend more time with him and her grandkids. She will continue teaching.
Riddick coached the Lady Bears for four seasons, making the postseason each year. Before that she spent two years as Ricky Ryan’s assistant coach. Her first 16 years in coaching were spent at her Alma mater, Orangefield.
“I appreciate the opportunity,” she said. “And I wish all the girls on the team the best.”
The Lady Bears have first team All-District selection Chelsea Perry coming back next season along with Honorable Mention players Karly Rogers and Brielle Butler.
