A summer fishing trip was ruined by a thief early Saturday morning. A couple of anglers discovered that more than $2,700 worth of rods and reels had been stolen from their boat. The boat was in the backyard of a house in the 2000 block of International Drive. The victim told Officer L.A. Lovelace with the Orange Police Department that they loaded the boat about 11 Friday night. When they went to leave about 5 a.m. Saturday items were gone. The inventory that was missing included two Johnny Morris rods and reels, two Shimano Citiva rods and reels, two H20 Express rods and reels and two Abu Garcia rods and reels. In addition, about $800 in Gulp bait was gone along with a bag of hooks and jigs.

Theft of a vehicle, 10:13 p.m. Thursday, 2600 Allie Payne Road. A woman told police she loaned her 2012 red Chevrolet Sonic to a friend. The friend’s father forcibly took the keys from the man and drove off with the car.
Unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of marijuana, 6:50 p.m. Friday, MacArthur Drive. Officer Patrick McDonald saw a car with an expired license tag. He stopped the car which had five occupants. One of the occupants had marijuana and a pistol wrapped in a shirt hiding under the passenger seat. Jakendrick Lamar Clevenger was arrested for the felony of unlawful possession of a firearm and misdemeanor possession of a firearm.
Credit card fraud, 5:41 p.m. Saturday. A woman went to the police department to report unauthorized charges to a credit union debit card. The granddaughter had the card in her wallet and left it in a car. When they checked the wallet was gone.
Possession of synthetic marijuana, 10:16 p.m. Saturday, 4100 block of Interstate 10. Officer Patrick McDonald reported a 911 call about a man trying to flag down cars. When he went to the site, he saw a man throw a baggie in a ditch. Lieutenant J.E. Davis found the baggie and it had synthetic marijuana. Christopher Brian Granger was arrested for misdemeanor possession.
