Sunday was a day of strange collisions. At 3:30 in the afternoon, a car ran into a house on 23rd Street in the Charlemont subdivision. Four hours later, a washing machine that came off a trailer hit two vehicles.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
The house at 3025 23rd Street had bricks broken after a Dodge Stratus hit it. Police reported the driver, 23-year-old Christopher Young, who lives in the neighborhood, was given a ticket for failure to maintain a single lane.
The washing machine collision was at 7:24 p.m. in the 6700 block of North 16th Street, about a block north of MLK Drive.
Police reported a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by 52-year-old James Edward Pack Jr. of Orange was traveling southbound on 16th Street. The truck was pulling a trailer with a washing machine, which fell off the trailer.
A Nissan Titan pickup driven by 57-year-old Wesley Wortham of Groves was traveling behind the trailer and struck the washing machine.
The washer then went into the northbound lane where it hit a Pontiac sedan driven by 37-year-old Scottie Touchet.
None of the drivers or passengers was reported injured. Orange police gave a ticket to Pack for not securing his load.
