Two of the three incumbents for the Bridge City school board have opponents in the May election. Bryant Champagne has filed against Place 4 incumbent Thad Hill, who is also running. Place 3 incumbent Rebecca Rutledge is being challenged by Bryan Gremillion. So far, Place 5 incumbent Jerry McInnis is the only person to file to run for Place 5.
In the West Orange-Cove CISD, Linda Platt-Bryant has filed, along with Demetrius Hunter for the three open at-large positions. Incumbents Bryan “Chop” Thomas Muhammad and the Reverend Hardy O’Neal have not filed as of Friday afternoon.
The incumbents have filed for the two open spots on the Little Cypress-Mauriceville board. They are Rex Peveto for Place 6 and Ray Rogers for Place 7.
Filing for the school boards ends Friday, February 19. The Orangefield and Deweyville districts have board elections in November.
