Restaurant owner Mike Lemoine lost his head and he wants it back. “It’s the biggest deer I ever shot,” he said. Lemoine had the eight-point buck head and the head of another deer in the back of his pickup truck at his home in the Cypress Bayou subdivision. He left the heads outside in preparation for mounting.
But last week when he went to get them, they were gone. His truck was parked in the driveway of his house. At first he thought an animal might have taken the heads, but he found no scratch marks showing a raccoon or other critter climbed up.
He speculates kids may have taken the heads as a prank. Recently, his neighborhood had vandals tear up Christmas decorations.
Since losing his heads, Lemoine has found out some other local hunters have had the same problem. Someone told him that an 8-point buck head was found along the roadway of FM 1130 and he’s hoping it might be his. Anyone with information about the missing deer heads should contact Lemoine at Spanky’s, 886-2949.
