The WOS Mustangs won another district title with a 32-7 win over Liberty Friday night.
Liberty moved the football well in the first half, controlling the clock with the Mustangs having the ball for less than four minutes. They held a 13-7 lead over the Panthers giving Liberty the moral victory of being the first team to score a touchdown on WOS in district in more than two years.
But the Mustangs made the adjustments at the half and outscored the Panthers 19-0 in the second half. Senior QB Jack Dallas threw for four touchdowns (Jeremiah Shaw, Keion Hancock, KJ Miller, and BB Tezeno) and he ran in the other score.
The Orangefield Bobcats won a tough game on the road at Hardin-Jefferson 17-15. OF had a 17-0 lead with Christopher McGee scoring on two long runs and Matthew Rainey adding a 22 yd field goal. But the Hawks battled back to make it a close game before the Bobcats closed the door. The playoff bound Bobcats will host WOS Friday.
The LCM Bears took advantage of five Cleveland turnovers in the first half to win 42-6. LCM and Navasota are currently tied for third at 2-2. LCM travels to Navasota Friday.
