Walkers and joggers at the Northway Park in Orange will be making detours the next couple of months on the track at the park. Frey’s Landscaping has begun renovations to the park and the track in particular.
Mallorie Henning with Frey’s said they are installing some drainage and then will be laying crushed decomposed granite for the whole mile long track at the park. “It’s a base material that’s actually going to be a lot better to run on and walk, as well as the path won’t hold water like it’s held in previous years so we’re building everything up to be about three inches above the grade of what it is so that we can have a nice, good walkway for everyone,” Henning explained.
The work on the trail and drainage improvements will take the next 30 to 60 days to complete. Portions of the trail will be closed while improvements are being made. The proposed budget includes spending $350,000 to resurface the trail.
