At approximately 4:15p.m., the Texas Department
of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash on
Interstate 10 in Orange County. The crash occurred at exit 861 in Vidor.
The preliminary DPS crash investigation indicates that a 2000 Chevrolet pickup
truck was traveling westbound on Interstate 10. As the driver began to
exit the freeway, she struck a construction barrier and lost control of the
vehicle. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest.
The driver, 61-year-old Teresa Moss of Vidor, was transported to a local
hospital with serious injuries. Moss was not wearing a seatbelt and was
ejected from the vehicle.
Exit ramp 861 was closed for approximately an hour, but has since reopened to
traffic.
