Early Monday morning someone broke into the new Transportation Building at West Orange-Cove CISD on Burnet Street and stole one of the schools suburban’s, driving it through the fence.
That vehicle was then used to drive thru the convenience store at the corner of 23rd and Lutcher Drive where the occupant of the vehicle stole cash before jumping back in the vehicle and leaving the scene.
The vehicle was later found unoccupied by DPS Troopers at the intersection of Morrell Blvd. and 7th Street.
West Orange-Cove Superintendent Dr. Rickie Harris confirmed that this was the second night in a row that the Transportation Bldg. had been burglarized. Harris said his personal RV was broken into the night before and ransacked.
This is an ongoing investigation as video and inventory is being checked. If you have any information regarding these crimes, call the Orange (883-1026) or West Orange Police Dept. (883-7574).
