Wednesday afternoon members of West Orange-Cove Consolidated Independent School District and their contractor, G&G Enterprises, held an elegant groundbreaking complete with a string quartet.
Natasha Garrett, CEO of G&G, whose company has done several projects for the district including the Event Center where the groundbreaking was held, said “This project is personal to us because my husband Colin is a graduate of WOS and several of our team members are also Mustangs.
The celebration was for the new Early Childhood Center building that will replace the North Early Learning Center located on Cordrey St. The new facility for three and four year old’s will be built next to the WOS Elementary School off MLK Drive in Pinehurst. The money for the project is coming from the $72 million bond passed in 2024 and the timeline is approximately two and a half years.
The district says the North Early Learning Center prepares Pre-K students for school success by nurturing social-emotional growth, communication skills, and physical well-being through experience-based classrooms and strong family and community partnerships.
Below Superintendent Dr. Alicia Sigee talks about the event and the project.
