Monday night at the November Orangefield school board meeting, Dr. McAlpin and the OISD Board of Trustees recognized Mr. Doug Wilson for his 63 years of service at OISD.
In a career that spanned over six decades, Mr. Wilson has touched the lives of countless students, teachers, and staff. Whether it was in the classroom, helping students learn and grow, or in the technology department, troubleshooting and supporting our systems, or repairing our doors and locks, Mr. Wilson’s contributions have been immeasurable. Through every challenge, he remained a constant—an expert, a mentor, and a friend to all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
The board also took a moment to recognize Dr. Ronald Risinger for his exceptional service to the district. He elected not to run for re-election in November. They thanked him for his leadership of the Community Steering Committee for the 2023 Bond and willingness to step forward and serve when a position became vacant in 2023. Jude Graffagnino (below) was sworn in after winning Risingers place in the November election.
