
William (Bill) Pittillo of Orange left this world on Easter Sunday(4/20/2025).
He was born on June 7th, 1954 in Portland Oregon.
Bill was a Vietnam War Veteran who earned the Silver Star. After he was honorably discharged from the Army, Bill tried several different types of employment but finally found his niche as an Aircraft Mechanic.
He went to A/P school and received his FAA certification. While going to school 40 hrs a week he also worked 40 hrs a week. Bill did this for a year.
After graduating with a 3.5 average he worked in the field for the next 30 years. Bill rose rapidly to the position of Aircraft Inspector.
Bill’s career enabled him to travel in the U.S. extensively. He worked in about 46 of the 50 states. Even on vacation he traveled. Bill saw Paris, Rumania and Hawaii. He always said it was the Gypsy in him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Cooley, and his stepfather Clarence Pittillo. He also lost a sister, Teri Cooley, 3 beloved sister-in-laws, Debbie Pittillo, Wanda Barry and Patsy Peters.
Bill is survived by his wife and fellow traveler of 45 years, Linda Pittillo. His brother, Art Pittillo and sister Daunine Cooley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill’s sweet smile and quirky sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him.
