William “Bill” Emmet Wilson, age 94, of Orange, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November, 20, 2023, in Orange, Texas. Services honoring Bill will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Dorman Funeral Home; JC Copley and Hershel Garner officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Orange, Texas. A one hour visitation for family and friends will be held prior to services.
On December 6, 1928, Bill was born to parents, Johnny and Aileen Wilson. Bill married the love of his life, Jeanette Wilson, on November 17, 1950, and they were happily married for 73 years. Together, Bill and Jeanette raised four boys, all of whom looked just like Bill, and each carried a deep love and devotion for him. Bill served the United States Army honorably, for two years, during the Korean War. In 1962, Bill moved his family from Georgia to Texas, where he began work at the Orange Paper Mill; retiring after 29 years. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed spending many hours in his shop woodworking and building things. Bill also loved to collect coffee cups and knives, and always said you could never have too many. He was an avid square dancer, alongside his wife, for many years. Bill was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, where he served the Lord faithfully.
Preceding Bill in death are his parents, Johnny and Aileen Wilson; brothers, Johnny Wilson, Edwin Wilson, Donald Wilson; and daughter-in-laws, Lynn Wilson, and Mary Beth Wilson.
Those who will cherish Bill’s memory most are his beloved wife, Jeanette Wilson; sons, Donny Wilson and wife, Lisa, Earl Wilson and wife, Connie, Mike Wilson, Greg Wilson and wife, Christi; twelve grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Honoring Bill as pallbearers are Danny Wilson, Earl Wilson, Mike Wilson, Greg Wilson, Blake Pope, and Brandon Manuel; honorary pallbearer, Jonathan Wilson.
The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice, for the care they provided to their dad; especially his weekly nurse, Destin Thomas, and his on call weekend nurse, Brittni Briggs. Words simply cannot express how much you were appreciated.
