Thursday morning the Bassmaster Elites will take off from the Orange Boat Ramp. With the elimination of Louisiana waters many fishermen say it will be hard to match the 49-50 pounds of bass it took to win in 2013 and 2015. But there’s a reason they’re called the Elites so we’ll see what happens as the weigh-in each day will be 3pm. The field will be cut to 50 on Saturday and then the top 12 will fish on Championship Sunday.
The Orange County River Festival coincides with the tournament. Eat, drink, ride, and visit many of the vendors who make up the sport of bass fishing. It is free to get into the festival and the concerts on Friday and Saturday are also free. Don’t forget your lawn chairs if you want to sit. General parking will be near the entrance of the animal shelter on Simmons. Handicap parking is near the intersection of Simmons and Green Ave.
