
A 28-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the foot early Saturday morning, Orange police report. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the injury was with a .22 caliber rifle that the man was playing with. Acadian Ambulance took him to Beaumont St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. The shooting was reported at 12:47 a.m. Saturday at a house on Circle P in Roselawn.
Two different stores had grab-and-go shoplifters during the weekend period. On Friday afternoon about 4:45, a woman stole about eight pairs of Wrangler FR carpenter jeans from the Horseman Store, 519 Lutcher Drive.
Orange police said the woman and a man came into the store and asked for the jeans. The woman grabbed several pairs, worth $50 each, walked past the counter and out the door. She and the man got into a four-door Honda and drove eastward.
A clerk described the woman as white, about 5-feet-8-inches tall with red hair and an average build. She was wearing gray sweatpants. The man is described as white, shorter than the woman and with a skinny build. He was wearing a blue hat.
On Sunday about noon, personnel at Dollar General, 3024 16th Street, reported a theft. A white woman driving a silver SUV took a number of pieces of outside furniture that was on display outside the store.
The missing items included five plastic tables, two plastic patio chairs, one lawn chair and two children’s chairs. The furniture had a total value of about $104.
Detectives are going through surveillance videos to get more details on the thieves. Anyone with information should contact the Orange Police Department at 409-883-1026.
