
A man who was stabbed Friday night but refused to cooperate with police is facing misdemeanor charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest.
However, 38-year-old Christopher James Declouet ended up at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment.
Orange police went to a house in the 1900 block of Robin Avenue in Greenway Park at 10:45 p.m. Friday. Police were sent to assist with emergency medical personnel who were called.
Police said the man, who did not live at the house, had been stabbed. However, he refused to say who assaulted him or what happened. Officers said he would not allow investigators to take photographs of his injuries. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the man was also reciting Bible verses. He said the man was admitted to the hospital and was not taken to jail. His injuries are not considered life threatening.
That was the second stabbing Orange police investigated Friday. Mack Toler Jr. was stabbed at the seafood restaurant at 1102 West Park Avenue at 1 p.m. Friday. The stabbing happened during a fracas at the eatery when two men got into an argument. As of Monday afternoon, no one had been arrested in connection with the assault.

A woman was injured Sunday afternoon during a two-car collision on Womack Road at West Lutcher Drive. Orange police said 37-year-old Shannon Gunter of Orange was taken by Acadian Ambulance Service to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Her injuries are not considered life threatening.
Police reported the collision was at 12:55 p.m. Sunday. A Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 24-year-old Breanna Cox of Orange was traveling northbound on Womack Road. The car was followed by a Dodge Charger driven by Gunter.
Police said the Cobalt got to Lutcher Drive and made a U-turn. During the turn, the Cobalt hit the front passenger side of Gunter’s Charger.
Cox and her 22-year-old passenger was not injured. A passenger in the Charger was also not injured.
Police reported Cox was given a ticket for improper U-Turn.

Orange police received two separate complaints related to Tropical Storm Harvey recovery. A woman who lives in the 3600 block of Kenwood Street in the Ridgemont subdivision went to police at 5 p.m. Friday to report several items were missing from the house, which is under repairs after the storm. The items include a shop vacuum and power tools. The woman said workers for a contractor may have taken the items.
Also on Friday, a woman living on Willowglen Street in Greenway Park filed a complaint that her construction contractor had not complied with her contract and had not provided materials.
