
A driver who hit a road sign on FM 1130 Saturday evening told police a deer ran in front of his truck and he went off the roadway trying to avoid it. Orange police reported 41-year-old Kenneth Paul Marple Jr. was driving a Ford F150 in the 8300 block of FM 1130 when the accident occurred about 6:30 p.m. Marple and his passenger, 21-year-old Kenneth Paul Marple III, were not injured, according to police.
A 38-year-old had minor injuries Sunday afternoon when his SUV hit a guardrail on Lutcher Drive. Orange police said Thanh NGA Phan of Orange was traveling westbound in the right lane of the 3300 block of Lutcher Drive near Tejas Parkway. The Toyota Rav4 he was driving went off the roadway and hit the guardrail. The impact made the SUV turn and it came to rest facing northward.
A man and a woman were arrested Friday for misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor drug charges, and interferring with a 9-1-1 call after another woman was attacked. Police went to the 3700 block of Ridgemont Drive about noon Friday after a call about the assault.
According to the police report, the man and woman were in a vehicle and were stopped in the 600 block of Gardenia Street. The officer said the man who was arrested had previously had a relationship with the victim. The victim had minor injuries.
Dewayne Levon Zetar of Orange was arrested for Class A misdemeanor asssault, interferring with a 9-1-1 call, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Whitney Jefferson of Orange was arrested for Class A misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor possession of a barbituate, and unlawfully carrying a firearm. Both were taken to the Orange County Jail.
