The West Orange-Stark Mustangs pulled out a 38-37 win over Splendora Saturday to win the Bill Tennison Memorial Tournament in Orangefield. Donanerius Brown was named tournament MVP.
The OF Lady Bobcats finished second in their tournament after a 95-60 loss to Silsbee in the Championship Game. For OF: Faith Fregia 23 points and 4 rebounds; Emmi Lummus 8 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals; Joli Ponfick 9 points and 3 assists; Jacey Bourque 8 points and 3 steals.
The OF ladies beat West Brook 57-44 to get to the Championship game. For OF: Faith Fregia 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 steals; Emmi Lummus 13 points, 5 assists, and 6 rebounds; Kylie Elkins 10 points and 3 rebounds; Tatum Garlington 8 points and 4 rebounds.
The Bobcat boys finished third after beating Jasper Saturday 71-26. Cade Prejean had 15 for OF while Tyrone Waggoner added 14 and Valentin Catt had 9 and 13 rebounds.
The LCM Lady Bears finished third at the Anahuac Tournament, defeating the host Panthers 53-38.
The LCM Boys went 1-1 Saturday at the HJ Tournament. They defeated Chapel Hill 59-55 in OT with Braden Bridges scoring 37. Then they lost a close one to Port 55-53 after defeating them earlier in the tournament. Jesse Doucette had 18 and Bridges 23 in the loss. They’ll host Woodville on Tuesday in their Annual Hawaiian Shirt Night game.
At the Central Heights Tournament in Nacogdoches, BC lost to Central Heights 59-35, Laneville 44-40, and Diboll 51-49.
At the HJ Tournament Saturday Vidor lost to Tatum 59-43.
