The Orangefield Bobcats JV team hosted the HJ Hawks Thursday night at F.L. McClain Stadium for a district matchup. The game was close throughout with the Hawks leading 8-6 at the half and ultimately winning 16-14. This was the Bobcats first district loss of the season. Kadeon Evans scored on a 50 yard run in the 2nd quarter. Quy Tsan had a 40 yard kickoff return which gave the Bobcats good field position during the game. In the second half, Lane Rach caught a 14 yard touchdown pass from Clayson Choate. Clayson added a rush for the 2pt conversion. The Bobcats defense played well throughout the night, only giving up a couple of big plays. The Bobcats ahad a game winning touchdoqwn called back at the end of the game due to a penalty, and the game ended on a couple of kneel downs by the Hawks. Thanks to all who came out to support the Bobcats. The Bobcats appreciate the crowds both home and away. The season will finish up next Thursday, 11/3 at West Orange-Stark HS.
The WOSMS Stallions hosted Liberty for their final home games of the year. The 7th grade team improved to 6-0 on the season with a 42-0 win. Quinton Walker and Jadon Jones each scored 2 touchdowns with one of Jones’ coming on a kickoff return. Quincy Crosson rushed for one and Ke’Zayvier Richards connected with Keyshawn Budwin for another. Richards, Jaylen Briones and Jartayvon Craven each scored on two point conversions. Demetrius Hunter helped lead the defense to another shutout with help from Javon’trae Jancie with an interception and Walker with a fumble recovery. The 8th grade team followed things up with a 28-0 win over the Panthers. Patrick Mickey and Clint Williams each rushed for a touchdown, while Jerren Terrell connected with Armani Wallace for a TD. The Stallion defense would get 4 turnovers in the game and score on one. Artavious Samuel and Kaiden Berry each had interceptions while Jacob Dominguez and Floyd Mouton recovered fumbles, Mouton returning his for a touchdown. Angel Ibarra was perfect on the night with 4 extra points. The Stallions will travel to Orangefield next Thursday, November 3rd for their final games of the year.
