
LCM 24 Bridge City 16
The LCM Bears came out strong and then held off a late charge by Bridge City to get a big 24-16 road win. The Bears scored on their first drive (J’Lynn Morris run) after a couple of completed third and longs. And the Bears would strike quickly again as Justin McCarver picked up a blocked punt and returned it for a 14-0 lead. A field goal by Isiah Watzlavik would give them a 17-0 halftime lead. BC got the ball first but couldn’t move the chains and the Bears responded with a 41 yd TD pass from Jakson Struwe to KD Reed. The Cards got into a groove and scored on two straight possessions on pass plays from Hudson Hoffman to Luke Nelson and Ayden Wiley and added two point scores to make it a one possession game. BC had a couple of chances in the fourth but the quarter went scoreless. Bears improve to 5-0, 5-3 and the Cards are now 4-1, 7-1.

WOS 33 Silsbee 30
The WOS Mustangs were down 21-13 to Silsbee at the half. But in the third the Mustangs and RB Khelvy Jefferson took advantage of Silsbee miscues. WOS scored on the opening drive and added a two point conversion to tie. On their next possession a 30 yd. penalty on the Tigers set Jefferson up for a 20 yd TD run to make it 27-21. Then Silsbee touched the ball on the kickoff and it went out at the one. The Mustang D held them to a three and out. WOS got the ball at the Silsbee 30 and two plays later they were in the endzone again to make it 33-21. Jefferson was the offense with 24 carries for 250 and 4 TD’s.

Deweyville 44 W.Hardin 34
The Pirates were down 20-6 in the second quarter to the Oilers before mounting their comeback. Down 26-20 at half they took the opening drive down the field to score and make 28-26 and on the first play for West Hardin, Deweyville caused a fumble and went down and scored to make 36-26 and never looked back. Jaxon Slone rushed for 144 and surpassed a 1000 yards rushing for the season Friday night. Elijah Milton had 112 yards on 17 carries and 1 TD, Lane Burke had 94 yards on 19 carries and 2 TD’s. The Pirates had 374 yards rushing and 112 yards passing for 486 total yards. The Pirates moved their record to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in District play. The Pirates will be off the next 2 weeks.

Vidor 48 Liberty 19
The Pirates picked up their first win of the season and they did it on the road. Down 16-13 at the half the Pirates defense stepped it up, holding the Panthers to just three points. Offensively it was the Kason Jones and Landon Jones show as they ran up and down the field for 35 second half points. The Pirates will go to Sour Lake to play Hardin-Jefferson (1-4, 3-5) on Friday.
