The Cardinals carved up the Lions to improve to 7-0, 4-0 in district. BC was close to 400 yards of offense with QB Hudson Hoffman throwing for 258 and Ashton Sumrall leading all rushers with 90 yds. Once again Abraham Munguia had a double digit reception night with 10 for 200 and two TD’s. Luke Nelson caught the other touchdown. Cards host LCM Friday.

LCM 52 Liberty 7
The Bears jumped out to a 35-7 halftime lead and coasted to a Homecoming win and a 4-0 district start. Five different Bears got into the endzone, led by QB Jakson Struwe who had 231 yds. of offense (131air/100ground) with TD’s of 27 and 48 yds. He also hooked up with KD Reed from 43 and Mason Istre from 39 yds. J’Lynn Morris had two scores and 105 yds. and welcome back Braylon Lewis with a 39 yd. TD run. The Bears “D” held the Panthers to 200 total yards of offense. Bears travel to BC Friday.

WOS 42 Shepherd 6
The Mustangs knocked the Pirates from the ranks of the unbeatens with an impressive win. It was the Khelvy Jefferson Show as he ran for a career high 243 yds. and 3 scores. The defense held the Pirates to 214 total yards. Anterrion Fontenot lead a trio of players with double digit tackles. Fontenot recorded 14 tackles with Jonathan Johnson and Kayden Perry right behind him. Mustangs host Silsbee Friday.

Evadale 44 Deweyville 36 2OT
The Pirates and Rebels battled toe to toe for four quarters ending in a 28-28 tie. In OT the Pirates scored first and got a two point conversion. They had the Rebels against the wall facing a 4th and 14 but their QB, Head Coach Buckner’s son Brett, made a great 15 yd. run to keep the drive alive and they would go on to win the River Bowl. For DV, Jaxon Slone led the charge with 24 carries and 211 yards and 3 TD’s, Slade Gunter had 20 carries for 109 yards and 1 TD, Lane Burke had 12 carries for 59 yards, Elijah Milton had 3 carries for 20 yards and 1 TD. The Pirates ended the night with 403 yards offensively. Pirates travel to West Hardin Friday.

Lumberton 42 Vidor 28
Vidor, looking for their first win, held the lead at halftime but weren’t able to hold on. It was 28 all going into the fourth quarter when the Raiders blocked a punt and kept the momentum with a long TD run by Chase Williams. For the Pirates, Kason Jones had scores from 55 and 2 yds. Landon Jones ran one in from 80 and went over the 1000 yd. mark for the season. Rylan Chesser had a two yd. TD. Troy McElveen hit all four PAT’s. Pirates go to Liberty Friday.
