
Only three of our area teams were on the field this week. Bridge City, LCM, Vidor all took the week off as they prepare for the start of district Friday. BC will host Lumberton and Vidor is at LCM. The other District 10-4A D1 games will be Hardin-Jefferson at Livingston and Liberty at Huffman.
Let’s take at look at the games that were played in Week 4.
WOS 52 Bellaire Episcopal 23
The WOS Mustangs improved to 2-2 with a big road win. They rolled up 350 yards on the ground with six different players toting the rock and Khelvy Jefferson scoring three times. The defense held Episcopal to 263 total yards. WOS will hit the road again to play Almeta Crawford on Saturday. Then they’ll have a bye before starting district.

Deweyville 36 Acadiana 20
Deweyville Pirates are dealing with some injuries and some younger guys are having to step up and Asher Burch did that Friday. Burch came in the 2nd quarter as the FB and led the rushing attack with 103 yards on 18 carries and 3 TD’s. Jaxon Slone had another solid night with 90 yards on 10 carries and Slade Gunter had 73 yards on 10 carries and 1 TD. Ayden Kelley was having a career night before having to sit because of an injury he had 61 yards on 5 carries all in the 1st quarter.
The Pirates ended the night with 341 total yards all on the ground and picked up win #2 to even their record at 2-2 and this week they travel to West Sabine to battle with the 2-2 Tigers.
