On Tuesday, the Bobcats hit the road to take on the Wildcats from Splendora.
The combined B-team took the field first. Skyler Beitel had quite a night, rushing for over 100 yards and scoring a touchdown. Lynkon Delcambre spearheaded the offense at quarterback. He was able to manage the game very well, while also scoring a two-point conversion. Bryce Hooks showed out on both sides of the football, making several tackles on defense and moving the pile to pick up key first downs for the Bobcats. In the end, the Cats came up short with an 8-22 loss
The 7th grade A-team was next to take on the Wildcats. The Bobcats started off shaky after giving up an early touchdown pass on a blown coverage, but the defense pinned their ears back and went to work after halftime shutting out Splendora. This gave the offense the opportunity to work their magic. Jaxon Agerton and Logan Anderson each had an interception with Anderson returning his for a touchdown. The offense was led by Agerton who converted a 2-point conversion pass to John Royer, and Gage Lucas who punched one in from 26 yards out and ran for nearly 100 yards on the night. Standouts on defense were Hunter Reeves, John Royer,Luke Erickson, and Case Comeaux. Overall, It was a great team effort by these young men, and they picked up the victory 14-6.
The last team to hit the field for the night was the 8th grade A-team. They had a strong defensive stand to start the game but slowly lost their grasp as injuries started to pile up. The Bobcats did have a few nice plays on offense, such as a 21-yard pass from Cole Sanches to Carson Gonzales and an end-around from Elijah Jones for a first down. The defense also had a few bright spots, as Kale Spears led the team in tackles and Kendin Hampton forced a fumble which was recovered by Rylan Agerton.
The Bobcats will be back on the road again next week, as they travel to Woodville to take on the Eagles on Thursday, September 15th.
