
Week 10 cleared the water a little bit on who’s going to the playoffs but with one week left there’s still some questions to be answered on the football field next week.

The Mustangs (4-0, 6-3) showed no mercy on the winless Longhorns as they tune up for the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns this week. The Mustangs defense held Tarkington to a total of 3 yards of offense (-33 rushing) while Khelvy Jefferson once again lead the offense with 172 yds. rushing on just 11 carries and four TD’s.

Bridge City 49 Liberty 18
The Cardinals (5-1, 8-1) rolled the Panthers on Senior Night as junior QB Hudson Hoffman was almost perfect going 13-16 for 271 yds. and 3 TD passes and he ran for two more. Abraham Munguia was once again his main target (6-127-2) and RB Ashton Sumrall rumbled for 108 yds. Cards hit the road to Huffman Friday as the district’s number one defense faces the number one offense in the Falcons.

Orangefield 56 E.Chambers 28
The Bobcats (4-1, 7-2) locked up second place in the district behind Hardin with a convincing win in Winnie. They jumped out to a 35-14 halftime lead and never looked back. RB Mason Manning went out early with a twisted ankle and QB Carson Gonzales picked up the slack. Gonzo passed for three TD’s and ran for four more as he picked up 141 yds. on the ground in the victory. The Bobcats celebrate Senior Night on Thursday when they host Buna.

Huffman 35 LCM 28
The LCM Bears ran out of time in their comeback against the Falcons to suffer their first district loss. The Falcons, behind talented QB Nolan Cook had a 35-14 lead before the Bears recovered a fumble and got some momentum. J’Lynn Morris earned his 120 yds. rushing while Parker Freeman caught two TD passes from Jakson Struwe. Struwe also threw one to KD Reed who had six receptions on the night. Bears (5-1, 5-4) go to Lumberton (5-1, 6-3) Friday.

H-Jefferson 29 Vidor 28
The Hawks scored on a two point conversion to keep Vidor from picking up their second straight win. With three minutes left the Hawks punched it in and then threw a pass in the back of the endzone for the one point victory. The Pirates (1-5, 1-8) will host Livingston (0-6, 2-7) for Senior Night.
