A contractor boring into the ground Wednesday broke a water main in West Orange, leading to a boil water notice for residents living east of Dayton Street. The Orange County Water Control and Improvement District 2 operates the water and sewer utilities in West Orange. Workers Wednesday afternoon fixed the line. People in the area under notice should not drink the water until the state health department tests and clears it for consumption.
